VISA INFORMATION

Foreign nationals who wish to enter or stay in Mongolia must obtain visas of appropriate classification corresponding to the purpose of their visit. Nationals of those countries which have visa exemption agreements with Mongolia are exempted from visa requirements to the extent allowed by such agreements on reciprocal basis. VISA TYPES

Tourist Visa
To obtain a tourist visa  the required documents, including completed Application form for Temporary visitor for up to 90 days, should be submitted to the Consular section of the Embassy in person. Applications cannot be submitted by mail. The processing time is usually 3-5 working days. In the tourist season, it may take up to 10 days.

Other Types of Visa (Business, Employment, Student, etc.)
Visitors coming to Mongolia for a purpose other than tourism are advised to contact their Mongolian partner/inviting entity and must obtain the approval from the appropriate Mongolian authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia or the Immigration Agency of Mongolia). More information visit https://immigration.gov.mn/en/visa-total/.

In case of traveling through other countries before entering Mongolia, please verify the travel regulations and coronavirus restrictions before applying for a visa. Please note that the Embassy of Mongolia will not reimburse the visa fees once the visa is delivered.

E-VISA
The Government of Mongolia has launched the Electronic Visa Application System for 36 countries, including Hungary. This way citizens of Hungary are eligible to apply online for Mongolian e-visa through https://www.evisa.mn  for a stay up to 30 days, in the following 3 categories of visa:
- K2:    Visa for tourism
- K4:    Visa for participants in sports, cultural, arts events, film and content production
- K6:    Visa for transit (up to 10 days)

The Electronic Visa Application System offers the following features: E-visa applicants are no longer required to visit the nearest Diplomatic Mission of Mongolia and submit his/her passport and original supporting documents in person. E-visa applicants will receive their e-visa by his/her email within 72 hours. However, applicants are advised to hold digital or printed version of his/her e-visa to present to airlines and Mongolian border officials when traveling to Mongolia.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR OBTAINING MONGOLIAN VISA

  1. Completed application form

Temporary visitor for up to 90 days

  1. Passport, which is valid at least 6 months beyond the stay and has a minimum two blank pages
  2. A recent photo (3.5 x 4.5cm)
  3. Proof of visa fee payment /Visa fees must be paid only by bank transfer. Before paying the visa fee, please make sure that you have all required and supporting documents/
  4. Hotel booking confirmation
  5. Flight booking confirmation
  6. COVID Vaccination certificate
  7. Invitation letter from the Mongolian authorities and companies (if applicable)

Important notice: Visa officer may require you to submit additional documents to prove the purpose of your visit. With a regular tourist visa you may stay up to 30 days in Mongolia. It may be extended for a further 30 days at the Immigration Agency of Mongolia if you apply for an extension not less than 4 days before the duration of your visa expires.

Note: When applying for a visa, a foreign citizen, who has renounced Mongolian citizenship and become a foreign citizen, shall attach a Presidential Decree on renunciation of Mongolian citizenship or a Certificate of renunciation of citizenship. Born as a foreign citizen, child under the age of 16 of citizen of Mongolia, and a foreign citizen who have renounced Mongolian citizenship are exempted from required visa fees. In this case for getting child visa, a copy of documents of a parent with Mongolian citizenship, a copy of the child's birth certificate, and the consent of the foreign citizenship parent are required.

Visa fee payment must be transferred to the following bank account of the Embassy of Mongolia to Hungary. Please note that at the Consular Section of the Embassy cash or Credit/Debit card payment is not accepted.
